The School of Humanities and Social Sciences adapted a Technical Strategic Plan in 2002. The plan was written to define the management and vision of technology in the school. The plan was written by Susan Garrigan-Piela, Portfolio Business Manager for the School and edited by Dean John P. Harrington. The Executive Committee of the School which is comprised of the Department Heads, the Associate Deans, and ombudsman for the faculty, and the lead by the Dean approved the plan.
The Tech Plan describes the need for technological resources in the school, and builds a foundation on which to manage the hardware, software, and personnel in a cooperative environment. Two distinct groups were established by the Tech Plan; the Tech Team and the Tech Vision Committee.
